A Band Called Flash has intertwined the genres of  disco, jazz, and funk. Listeners voyage to the past through the band’s 80s-style riffs and beats. In Stephen Titmus band review on the  Resident Advisor he revealed that “The band makes a habit of deploying subtle earworm melodies, and much of their work sounds as though it was recorded in 1981." A Band Called Flash had their debut performance opening for Gary Wilson at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn mid September and captivated the audience by their unique blend of sound. If you’re in New Jersey and desire eclectic music, the dynamic group will be performing at The Cage in Newark this Saturday November 19, 2016. A Band Called Flash is breaking barriers through variety and experimentation. Purchase your tickets to listen and observe change evolve towards eminence.

PORCHES prepares for takeoff!

This week’s #FlightFriday focuses on synthpop band PORCHES. Aaron Maine started the band in 2010, and they have been successful ever since. They released their album Pools earlier this year receiving well written reviews from critics. Jeremy Gordon from Pitchfork described the album as “an introspective record, tailormade for lonesome nights“. Pool’s synthesized melody and beats combined with Maine’s soft voice generates a chill album that people can vibe and relax too. Maine’s girlfriend Greta Kline also known as Frankie Cosmo, plays bass and provides vocals on some of the tracks such as “Braid”, “Be Apart” and “Hour”.
PORCHES is performing in 26 cities starting in America and making their way to Europe. They are kicking off their tour at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia and ending the tour in Amsterdam at the London Calling Festival. Excited to see what the future has in store!

PORCHES album Pool is available on Spotify and iTunes!

Majid Jordan prepares for takeoff!

This week’s #FlightFriday features Canadian R&B duo, Majid Jordan composed of singer Majid Al Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman. You might have heard them on a couple of songs with Champagne Papi, including “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and ”Jungle”.
Now these two are preparing for takeoff, as they get ready for their first ever North American tour. They will hit 26 cities, starting off in Montreal on September 30th and ending in the 6 on November 10th, where it all started.
This February, the duo released their self-titled debut album that is filled with themes of lust and romance. The album gives the audience a feel good vibe, leading them to place of desire and sensuality. Maskati’s gentle falsetto and Ullman’s talent on the synth produce a sound that has put them in flight, and there’s no telling how high they will go.
