New Chicago artist, Lulu Be, is taking off with her latest song “Rude Tings”.
“Rude Tings” is an upbeat reggae/afrobeat tune that will have the listener busting out dance moves in their room and strutting down the street with their best fit. The use of broken English paired with the tribal percussion sets Lulu Be apart from most genres coming out of the Chicago music scene. We asked Lulu Be about her unique sound and she describes it as: “Afrohop…my roots heavily influenced my style. I was raised on all Ethiopian music: Wolayta, Tigrigna, Oromo, Gurage; and also, the Ethiopian drum called the Kebero (the main instrument in Ethiopian church music) really set the tone for my sound.” Lulu Be chants “I be the one with the glow” emitting a bona fide egocentric and conceited vibe. She speaks of independence and self-love, while repping her Ethiopian roots. This colorful, lively jam is the perfect song to play when you’re preparing for a night out on the town or if you just need a “pick me up.” It’s nearly impossible to not vibe to this, so congrats, Lulu Be! We hope to hear more from you and see you reach your maximum potential. Listen to "Rude Tings" Here: https://soundcloud.com/lulubomb/rudetings
