By: Zoe Hines Founder of Ballistic Sounds. Indie Rock Band Spritely released their new track “I Shouldn’t Need” early September. This mellow track opens with a gradual acoustic guitar melody. Jillian Lavin delivers passionate lyrics describing lust for someone she yearns. Self control is a recurring theme throughout this song as she repetitively sings in the chorus “I shouldn’t need him to want me”. Even though Lavin repeatedly tries telling herself not to relapse, she can’t help but keep falling back to what she desires. “I Shouldn’t Need” is an empathetic song that emulates a battle against your urges.
Spritely has a sound that resembles Paramore circa 2009. Lavin’s angelic voice blends smoothly with the natural string instruments. Their compelling musical style and lyrical trend are conducive to a bright future. BallisticSounds is excited to see them grow and shine as they explore new topics and increase their audience base.
