By: Shayla HarrisFormer Co-Founder and Editor of Ballistic Sounds. Barbadian singer, songwriter Kristen Walker is grinding to secure her place in the game. This young artist released “All of My Lovin’” last night, adding to her short but impressive discography. Kristen’s versatility shone through in her previous three tracks, leaving listeners thirsty for a new release. Walker’s delivers strong vocals in “Sad Magic” and “Wind Blows”, proving that she has a hopeful future in the R&B/Soul genre. “Confused”, which was released two months ago, takes her sound in a slightly different direction. Kristen’s soft, hazy voice glides over reverberating synth sounds entrancingly, and shows listeners why it is wrong to pigeonhole an artist to one genre. After this experimental track, it was difficult to predict what would come next from Walker. “All of My Lovin’” again highlights the breadth of Walker’s musical talent and understanding as it ties dancehall vibes into her R&B sound to create a catchy, fun jam. Walker’s unique sound is paired with relatable content that engages her audience. Walker is certainly positioning herself for takeoff; the question is where will she go next?
