By: Zoe Hines Founder of Ballistic Sounds. Toronto Native Pluto the 9th Wonder dropped his project Just 4 Now in July. The futuristic beats mix well with his seductive voice. Pluto’s project chronicles physical relationships he has experienced, and how he handles heartbreak. “Tell Me” the first track off his project, opens with a slow synthesized melody. His voice smoothly transitions in as he describes the deep attraction he has for a girl. His flow speeds up on the bridge reflecting his thoughts, which are driving him crazy. “Beauty in my Loneliness” gets more personal as Pluto characterizes coping mechanisms for heartache. Pluto handles his love issues by distracting himself and turning his hurt into songs that people can vibe to. Canadian Rapper John River ends the slow paced song with a raspy voice and fast flow. The last two songs “LA” and “Said So” show the lust he craves and wants to pursue. "Just 4 Now" is a fun and relatable project, but as Pluto grows as an artist, hopefully his content will be broader. He is young and still has potential to change the game of R&B. Excited to see what Pluto the 9th Wonder has in store for the future!
